HOW TO IDENTIFY DOFOLLOW BACKLINK

HOW TO IDENTIFY DOFOLLOW BACKLINK So often we hear about dofollow and nofollow backlink on internet both in forums and other internet marketing sites. we know certainly that one (dofollow) must be better than the other (nofollow) but the ability to identify and distinguish the two backlink categories is just beyond what many people think of.
To conserve my time and yours i will always make my post short and precise. In this post i will tell you what it means to say a backlink is dofollow and in my later post i will talk about nofollow.
The real idea of dofollow backlink is the work of the giant search engine (Google) in their attempt to minimize spamming and to display accurate results in SERPs.
Dofollow and nofollow are commands that instruct the search engines bot (crawlers/ spiders) on what to do with a particular link when it come across it, whether to index it or not.

The command that tells whether a link is dofollow or not is inserted in the HTML of the link as rel="attribute". The attribute is either dofollow or nofollow.
Example is shown below

<a href= http://www.example.com  rel="dofollow">Example1</a>
<a href= http://www.example1.com  rel="external">Example2</a>

The above links are dofollow and when search engine crawlers see the link they will index it and it will help in the ranking of the site.
The rel="dofollow" attribute actually recommend the link and tell the search engine crawlers to follow it.

How can someone identify and differentiate between the two backlink type?

Follow the method below to identify whether the link is dofollow or not.

Method:
place the mouse cursor on the link and then right click on it. select page element from the side menu. The HTML code of your backlink will be displayed and you will be able to see the attribute.

There are other methods to identify dofollow and nofollow links but the method above is actually the simplest.
If you wish to include any other method kindly use the comment box to do that.

  1. That's a great article, but there are other ways you can detect if a link is a follow or nofollow. I read an article about How To Spot Dofollow Or Nofollow Links which an alternative way to check follow and noffolow links.

Thank you Admin for sharing this great article.
